Design Through Heritage - DesignInspire In Motion 2023 Exhibition

“Design Through Heritage” is an exhibition for the Trade Development Council’s DesignInspire In Motion 2023 in Tokyo. It celebrates Hong Kong’s cultural legacy and its influence on design practices with the works of 15-20 designers. The 10-day exhibition showcased designs inspired by the city’s urban experience, industrial past and future crafts, by setting out a vision of Hong Kong design through three vantage points: Cityscape of Hong Kong, (Re)Industrialisation, and Traditional and Future Crafts. With new approaches of interpretations and expressions, the designers explore the relationship between heritage and design practices, highlighting the creative processes and presenting the city’s heritage as a source of inspiration for contemporary and future design practices.
